Common Questions & Answers

  • Are vaccinations required? Yes. Vaccinations done by pet owner must have the sticker from the vaccination as proof. Vaccinations are to be uploaded by pet owner into booking software before a reservation can be made to prohibit anyone who is not eligible to book taking up space for a dog who is vaccinated and wanting a kennel space. Breeder pamphlets handwritten without manufacturer packaging / information are not accepted.

  • Are you accepting new clients? Yes. All booking is first come first serve to anyone who has a paid deposit and complete vaccinations uploaded. We prefer polite, kind customers who are enjoyable to work with - a typical culture of the Columbia Basin.

  • How do I book? Online is best. Top right corner of this website says ‘Online reservations - booking software’ the link will take you to the Country Kennels Paw Partner booking software. Phone reservations are available if needed although please note we are extremely busy during pick up and drop off hours and may not be able to assist with phone reservations during this time. Everything has been designed to be completed online 24/7 at your convenience without having to contact someone via phone.

  • Can I bring paper copies of vaccination records? No. We need to verify ahead of time so we don’t have to turn you away for something not being valid at drop off.

  • How tall are your fences? 5 foot and 6 foot. You need to let us know if your dog jumps or climbs, and we will leash walk them when outside.

  • Do you take all dog breeds? Yes.

  • Can my dog come if they don’t get along with other dogs? Yes, they get one on one human time as their daycare and can play through the fence with other dogs, or we can keep an empty dog run between them in some cases.

  • Can I add treats? Yes! We have a large variety of add ons to offer.

  • Do you trim nails? No. We want your dog to associate coming to us as 100% happiness.

  • Can you do brush outs and exit baths? Yes. We also offer flea and tick baths. Ask about our fur vacuum.

  • Do you allow intact dogs? Yes. Breeders, and hunters will find this especially beneficial.

  • Will my dog be mixed with other dogs on the first day? NO. We are not dog behavioralists, and we don’t know your dog, nor does your dog know us or the environment. This is not safe to put dogs immediately together. There are not dog fights at Country Kennels because of how we do things, and we plan on keeping it that way. Dogs will be learned by staff, they will learn us and the environment, and once they have trust with us, they will trust us to place them in small groups of like personality, play style and size. Different sized dogs are rarely ever mixed if at all, typically with their own family.

  • Do you offer LARGE group play? No, never. It is not part of the business philosophy. You will never see us with more than five dogs together. This maintains a safe staff to dog ratio and a safe dog environment.

  • Do you offer SMALL group play? Yes, small groups of dogs can play together once we know the dogs temperament, personality and play style and the dogs know the environment and trust the staff.

  • What if my dog does not get along with other dogs? What if you don’t put my dog with anyone else? 1:1 human play time then, and dogs play amazingly and socialize through the fence of the play yards. They are active, happy and safe.

  • Can my dogs share a kennel? Yes, as long as they fit in the 4x16 space, and are happy together. Family dogs are preferred together so they remain happy and calm as they would together at home.

  • What do I need to bring? Just a collar/harness and food. Please do NOT bring giant full bags of dog food. Food is placed on top of the kennels so lifting is troublesome for full 40 pound bags of dog food.

  • Can I bring my dogs bed? Yes, if at any time they are chewing it apart and it might become a choking hazard, we will pull it and only use the Kuranda dog bed.

  • What temperature is it inside? The thermostat is set to 68 degrees and adjusted accordingly to keep dogs warm & cool by the season.

  • Do you have AC? Yes. As well as large oscillating fans and a giant roll up door for air exchange for airborne illness prevention. Shade fabric and supervised pools also allow dogs to cool down.

  • Is there shade? Yes, shade fabric in dog runs/play yards as well as outdoor kennel portions have roof over them to provide shade.

  • Can my dog go outside? Yes. Besides being in the fully grassed dog runs of almost three acres of real grass, each kennel has indoor/outdoor access for dogs to freely move inside to outside as they please. The inside is 4x4 and once through the doggy door, the outside is 4x12 making each kennel 4x16. Only one size kennel for all dogs. We do not price on the size of the dog. All dogs are treated as a life, and cared for the same no matter how large or small.

  • How often do you let my dog out? Dogs are let out so many times a day it’s hard to count. We prefer dogs to not be in kennels, but playing outside instead.

  • Will you send pictures? Yes, but pictures are not promised.

  • What if the weather is bad? All outdoor kennel portions are covered with a roof and capped on the ends for wind protection. This keeps dogs in the shade, out of the rain and snow. A large indoor dog play area is available. When weather is unsafe for pets, we set timers and rotate pets inside/outside.

  • Can I tour? Yes. By appointment. Tours are not offered on weekends and not offered in the evenings. Follow instagram/facebook for videos, photos of the facility.

  • Can I bring cold/frozen/raw food? Yes. We have a fridge & freezer.
